Register a New WhatsApp Business Number (OTP)
Use this guide to register a new phone number for WhatsApp Business in Sociovite and wish to register it as an official Cloud API number. The number must be able to receive a verification code by SMS or phone call.
Before You Start
Active Phone Number: Make sure the phone number can receive an SMS or phone call. Meta will send a 6-digit OTP to verify ownership.
Not Currently Used on WhatsApp: The number must not be active in WhatsApp Messenger or the WhatsApp Business mobile app. If the number is currently used in personal WhatsApp, delete the WhatsApp account from the mobile app before continuing, Settings > Account > Delete my account. Back up any required chats first. If the number is already active in the WhatsApp Business mobile app, use the Link WhatsApp Business Mobile App guide instead.
Registration Steps
In Sociovite, go to Settings > Channels and click Connect your account on the WhatsApp Business card.
In the prerequisite confirmation modal, click Connect WhatsApp Business.
In the Add your WhatsApp phone number dropdown, select Enter a new phone number.
Select the country code and enter the phone number without the leading 0 (e.g., 81234567890).
Choose how to receive the verification code Text Message (SMS) or Phone Call.
Click Next, then enter the 6-digit OTP.
Enter the Business Display Name and Business Category. Click Finish.
Return to Sociovite and make sure the WhatsApp Business account status is Connected.
